This term we began with a new group and in
September we had our first meeting in the church.
We tried our hand at hand bell ringing, we filled
out a Pioneer form that would tell everyone
all about who we were and what we like doing….
And hardest of all, to qualify as a Pioneer
we had to blow a bubble with bubble gum!
In October we filled shoe boxes will all kinds
of goodies for Christmas. They went to Eastern
Europe and we all brought £3 to help cover
the cost of the transportation. You could choose
if you wanted to fill a box for a girl or boy
and you could fill it with toys, colouring pencils
and paper, soap, and toothpaste and sweets.
We had to cover our boxes with Christmas paper.
And then at the end of October we had a Light
and Dark Disco. We had a go at eating an apple
in a bowl of water, having a ‘bad hair
evening’ and dancing….
In November we went for ‘A walk in the
dark’. It was pitch dark but a beautiful
evening and we walked about 2 miles. Didn’t
see any wildlife but that was probably because
they heard us coming….
And then in December we walked down to the
White Hart in Stoke for a meal. We mad masses
of chips and chicken nuggets and sausages. Then
we all had an icecream.
January 2008:
We had the The Ultimate Challenge! We made
our own O’s and X’s + a board and
then we had to play people on our table. To
see who would win, lose or draw. And worst of
all we had to play Dodie. It was ok if you drew
or won (only 2 out of 23) but if you lost! Well!!
In the end though she said that Jesus turned
things upside down when we was alive and the
4 who lost got crisps and sweets and the rest
of us only got sweets!

| February we ‘Rocked
around the clock’ and learnt how to
rock and roll…. It was fantastic fun
and we all had a go….
In March we will make MSMs – as
this goes onto the website we are unsure
what this means, Dodie won’t tell
us so will have to wait and see!
And in May we have a Surprise Night –
yet another mystery.
